Virtual Pastry Chef

Today, I’m very delighted because I finally got a virtual assistant. The outsourcing company I hired handles small-scale businessmen and businesswomen like myself and I’ll be visiting their site to discuss business matters with them. This will also be a good time for me to take a break because I seem to have been doing so much work lately. Anyway, I got it all figured out sooner than I thought since I was clearly very eager to have someone else do the job for me. I’m not getting any younger and I feel as if I have missed a lot of things for years now. So I want to use this opportunity to live my life as normally as I could without compromising my business credibility.

They will be focusing on the micro tasks because I particularly don’t want those areas left behind including finance management and other related fields. My pastry chef is not too big of an establishment just yet but I’m hopeful that we’ll get there. But since we have more customers pouring in everyday and we lack the manpower to cater to them, I personally want to move the business to the next level. Many are venturing in this because convenience and cost-cutting methods are just impressive.

I can’t wait to get it started and see how this newly devised strategy of mine will work on the market. But to be honest, despite their confidence in the quality of their result-driven job, I will not fail to look over things from time to time. This is my business after all and I wouldn’t want to put all my efforts to waste all the more disappoint my loyal customers. If I have to do it on my own again one day, I might as well acknowledge the possibility as soon as today. Being prepared is the least I can do for taking risks. Fortunately, they will be as concise as I would expect in order for me to clearly understand the importance of virtual assistants for a business like mine. Soon, I will share some updates. I mean Business

My pastry shop has been around for quite some time. I have dealt with tons of problems—problems that are often understood as necessity for a business to flourish. That’s very clear to me indeed, but sometimes when problems arise in different levels; it just gets the best of me. Sometimes, I bite my employees head off; don’t get me wrong but it’s practically normal and a few employers admit this.

On a different note, I’m happier now with how much I’m profiting. It’s not much but it pays the bills and soon enough when I’m ready I’ll probably expand this, open some branches across the state or something. Wishful thinking but it’s a better idea than just sitting there watching time pass by me.

With so many orders and increasing number of customers, I’m thinking maybe I should use a virtual assistant to do some things like accounting tasks. I’m pretty sure this is a big load off my back since I can’t really trust myself to juggle of these things at once. Better to outsource it than complicate it further. I’m looking for the right company and I have been taking my time, pacing things just so I can settle all my affairs in order. Wish me luck.

Disappearance

At home when we realize that we have important stuff disappearing on our watch, we tend to reassess our responsibility issues because when things disappear, it is quite upsetting. But the one disappearance that will make some people I know freak out is when someone close to you vanishes in thin air.

Morgan Harrington is just one of the brief incidents of the history of disappearance. According to police reports, the disappearance took place after she attended a rock concert in John Paul Jones Arena. As of today, the parents of Morgan are called to inspect skeletal remains found in a farm by a resident.

Personally, these things give me heart attack. Ever since I was kid where alien stories were numerous, disappearance was the most phenomenal event that can happen to someone. I just think that there are mysteries in this world that are so hard to understand. Well, I certainly don’t think she was abducted by aliens. As far as alien-knowledge is concern, aliens don’t leave your skeletons in earth. But seriously, Morgan’s case is far worse than that. We are looking at a murder case perhaps. I wouldn’t reduce it to something I’m not really sure of but there can be a lot of possibilities. Just watching the news make it so interesting (not in a freaky way).

I know this is so hard for her family and friends but I guess sometimes when things go wrong, we just have to remember that we can do something. Whatever the police say, I’d say justice is the least they can give.

Addiction, Caffeine, Women, Sex, Self.

I was an addict. Not a drug addict but I was addicted to caffeine and I didn’t rellay mind because it was the only thing that kept me awake when I needed to. A very attractive doctor of mine gave me a wink and told me there was nothing that could cure it. Although I know the fact that there is no cure because a lot of people are addicted to caffeine especially with coke and coffee—who could resist it, I began to wonder that maybe my addiction was a result of something that happened to me or perhaps something that is happening to me.

Today I write because I fear that caffeine addiction is what reflects my inability to respond to my body’s needs. Let’s set aside the awkward feelings. I undoubtedly need sexual pleasure. I forgot the last time I made love to a man because all these years I spent building a future, doing what I love to do, and looking at the sun, among others. My body is searching for that perfect touch that elevates a profound feeling within me. My body is after all what allows me to do all these things and without a glimmer, a sense of longing, a desire, it’ll just wear off like everything else.

In my opinion, with the modern lifestyle that we have today, our bodies have been functioning as machines. Machines that need to function mechanically in order to operate effectively. Over the years, we have neglected what our bodies are for because we are too focused on the world outside. We forgot that there is a universe within us that needs to be appreciated and attended to. Pardon me for such a statement if you think it’s unattractive especially for a 39 year old woman like me. But my recent realization has enlightened me to break free from what everybody is practically doing—dying inside. We need to start living because life is what we need to discover our true selves. I’m not saying my discovery is that I’m a pervert because that would be too much of a description. I’m saying, we are entitled to our own desires and it is but natural to the human species. There is no need for biblical justification as I don’t intend to offend those who believe in chastity or holiness or whatever.

Anyway, this might come off as a threat to men reading this blog. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. As to my fellow women, start making a change. This boosts self confidence and perhaps in the future you’ll have an easier time expressing oneself, just like what I’m doing now.

Pastry Comforts

Baking has always been my passion. The word baking itself has femininity in it that makes you want to explore and taste all the possibilities that sugar can do! In my hometown in Oklahoma, I was known in our neighborhood to bake the best pastries. I have two kids who are all addicted to my chunky chocolate chip cookies, which has a tad bit of similarity of Nestlé’s Toll House Cookies. Not boasting or anything, but that is what they all say.

It may sound like a cliché but I bake my pastries with a secret ingredient called love. I met my husband during our culinary days. Yes. He is also a chef. We met at one of the top schools of Le Cordon Bleu. He studied and pursued Asian Culinary while I mastered in Pastry. My husband travels around the Continent because he is a Chef consultant to many five star hotels. As for me, I started my own small pastry shop. Before my pastry shop, I only accepted orders for special occasions but a lot of my friends convinced me to open my own small pastry shop.

Right now, my shop has five tables and a comfy couch. I have a lot of loyal customers who come in for coffee and cookies every morning. I also have students who studies at my pastry shop. And also the businessmen that uses the Free Wi-fi that I offer in my shop. Being in this millennium, I know that internet is an important factor to business and education. I was shocked and amazed that the shop where I order my ingredients just recently launched their website for their clients’ convenience. Being one of the major suppliers for bakeries, they found an easier way for order processing. They told me to check out their website and try ordering online. To my surprise, there was a pop-out chat asking me if I needed assistance! Imagine that! I thought that it was computer generated but when I asked the owner, she told me that they were outsourcing their chat supports. I don’t know where they come from but they were very efficient. It made things a lot easier and faster. Being in a city that has wi-fi everywhere, I know I have to be a part of the internet world.

US appoints Howard Schmidt as cybersecurity chief

The White House has appointed its cyber tsar, following a seven month search.

Howard Schmidt, a former eBay and Microsoft executive who advised President Bush, was appointed after others turned down the job.

Mr Schmidt has been set the task of uniting various disparate agencies and organisations to shore up the country's defence against cyber attack.

In May this year, President Obama pledged to personally appoint someone to the post.

In a letter posted on the White House website, John Brennan, assistant to the President for homeland security and counterterrorism said that protecting the internet was "critical to our national security, public safety and our personal privacy and civil liberties".

"It's also vital to President Obama's efforts to strengthen our country, from the modernisation of our health care system to the high-tech job creation central to our economic recovery."

Mr Schmidt would have "regular access to the President and serve as a key member of his National Security Staff", he said.

The White House's acting cyber-security head, Melissa Hathaway, stood down in August after complaining that the post did not allow her to implement necessary changes.

Review: 'Avatar' delivers on the hype

(CNN) -- James Cameron has done it again.

For maybe the third time in his career, the immodest Canadian has made "the most expensive movie ever," confident that showmanship never goes out of style.
He was right about "Terminator 2," and he was right about "Titanic," and at this stage it looks more than likely he'll be proved right about "Avatar," too.

Already it feels like an epochal movie, a landmark fantasy film on par with "2001: A Space Odyssey," "Star Wars" and "The Lord of the Rings."

Like those (very different) movies, "Avatar" stretches the bounds of the cinematic imagination. It shows us something we've never seen before: an entire alien world, a new and complex ecosystem rendered in three dimensions with dazzling fluidity and detail. Blog: A geek praises "Avatar"

Welcome to Pandora, a distant planet and one of the most valuable outposts in the solar system. Here, earthlings mine a rare mineral and try to maintain equitable relations with the indigenous people. The Na'vi are 10 feet tall, blue-skinned and increasingly pissed as the humans encroach on their sacred lands.
This being the middle of the 22nd century, Earth's corporate emissaries don't want to come in and take what they want by force (not unless they have to).
Instead they try to win the natives' trust by setting up schools, teaching them English and infiltrating their number with organic avatars, modeled on Na'vi DNA but controlled with a human consciousness -- which is where Jake Sully (Australian actor Sam Worthington) comes in. He's a Marine and just naïve or innocent enough to score a free pass into the most suspicious of the local tribes.
If Jake -- or rather, his avatar -- can talk the Na'vi into leaving their jungle home of their own free will, then everyone will be happy. If not, the military will put his intelligence to more pragmatic use.

Put that way, the movie sounds like a video game (lo and behold, that's exactly how the "Avatar" video game plays out).
Gamers will also feel very much at home with the film's stereoscopic visual texture, a kind of synthetic naturalism, seamlessly folding live action into computer animation and vice versa.
